Officials with the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department say a man from Hazel Green is facing felony drug charges after his vehicle was stopped on U.S. Highway 20 near Elizabeth Sunday night. 54-year old Troy Miller of Hazel Green was stopped and a K-9 indicated the presence of a narcotic odor in his vehicle. During a search, deputies found a plastic bag containing a white crystal-like powder under the driver’s seat and a rock of similar substance on the backseat. Both tested positive for methamphetamine. The search also found a clear glass pipe and butane torch used for smoking methamphetamine. Miller was arrested and taken to the Jo Daviess County Jail. He is charged with Unlawful possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A passenger, 42-year old Joseph Allen of Nora, Illinois, was arrested on an active warrent.
