Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds says issuing a state-wide mask mandate to help slow the spread of the coronavirus is not enforceable. On August 9th, the White House Coronavirus Task Force recommended that Governor Reynolds consider mandating masks in areas where COVID-19 cases were wide-spread. During a news conference on Thursday, Reynolds was asked why she didn’t act on the recommendation at that time. She says the cities that have adopted a mask mandate, like Dubuque, know that it’s not enforceable.
