Reynolds Says Mask Mandate Is Not Enforceable

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds says issuing a state-wide mask mandate to help slow the spread of the coronavirus is not enforceable. On August 9^th, the White House Coronavirus Task Force recommended that Governor Reynolds consider mandating masks in areas where COVID-19 cases were wide-spread. During a news conference on Thursday, Reynolds was asked why she didn’t act on the recommendation at that time. She says the cities that have adopted a mask mandate, like Dubuque, know that it’s not enforceable.
