Dubuque Community School Board members have begun to narrow the pool of candidates in their search for a new superintendent. School board members met in closed session this week following the application deadline for candidates interested in succeeding Superintendent Stan Rheingans, who will end his time with the district June 30th to become the next chief administrator of Keystone Area Education Agency. A total of 16 people from seven states applied for the superintendent job. At the meeting, board members narrowed the candidate pool down to seven people, whom they will be contacting over the coming days about participating in screening interviews next week. The board expects to narrow that group down to three finalists to be interviewed in late February.
