Distracted Driving Causes Teen To Crash Vehicle

A teen driver distracted by his cellphone was injured in a rollover crash Thursday. 18 year old Noah Lyon of Dubuque, was taken by ambulance to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital for treatment. According to Dubuque police, the crash happened at about 2:50 a.m. Thursday in the 1700 block of Sharon Drive. Police said Lyon was traveling north when he looked down at his cellphone and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle struck the rear of a parked vehicle and overturned onto its side. Lyon was cited with failure to maintain control of his vehicle, use of an electronic communication device while driving, failure to have a valid driver’s license and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
