Phone outage could affect 911 service in Jo Daviess County

Jo Daviess County authorities say a reported telephone network outage could affect phone and 911 services over a wide area of the county including Apple River, Apple Canyon Lake, East Dubuque, Elizabeth, Galena and the Galena Territory, Hanover, Massbach, Nora, Scales Mound, Stockton and Warren could be affected by the outage. Residents reporting an emergency may use a landline, cellphone or internet-based phone service to contact their local police or fire departments or the sheriff’s department at 815-777-2141.
