Trial Date Moved For Man Accused Of Attempted Murder

A new trial date has been set for a man accused of attempted murder in connection with a Dubuque stabbing. 32 year old Lorenzo Eggleston of Dubuque is charged in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County with attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injury, going armed with intent, participation in a riot, unlawful assembly and assault with a dangerous weapon. He has pleaded not guilty. Eggleston’s trial now is set to begin April 2. It previously was scheduled for Tuesday, March 19. The charges are related to a May 28 incident in which 26 year old Cory Jones arrived at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center with multiple stab wounds. Jones reported that he was “jumped” by a group of men near West 15th Street and Central Avenue.
