Dubuque County Man Accused Of Stealing From Employer

A Dubuque County man was arrested after authorities said he stole more than $1,600 from his employer. 24 year old Douglas Holdsworth of Dubuque was arrested Friday on a warrant charging second-degree theft. Dubuque police met with a manager of the Dollar Tree store on the Northwest Arterial Sept. 14 for a report of a theft. The manager stated Holdsworth, who worked at the store, was told to take a money deposit from the store to the bank. The manager said she never received a return deposit slip and asked Holdsworth about it, at which point Holdsworth said he took the money directly to the bank. After an investigation involving its corporate security, employees at the bank said the institution never received the deposit. The missing deposit totaled over $1,655.
