President Joe Biden will make a visit to Madison on Friday. This will be his second trip to Madison this year. The White House formally announced the visit Tuesday afternoon. Biden’s visit comes on the heels of a debate performance that raised concerns among some voters and political analysts, and a decision by the Supreme Court that gave his opponent former President Donald Trump partial criminal immunity. The New York Times first reported Tuesday afternoon that Biden was planning to meet with Democratic governors in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Biden last visited Madison in April, touting his student loan debt relief plan during a speech at Madison College. He paid another visit to the Madison area in February 2023 less than 24 hours after delivering that year’s State of the Union address.
