Authorities say a case involving the April murder of a Dubuque County woman is now closed. A press release from the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department states the murder suspect is dead and emphasizes there is no danger to the public in the wake of the incident. 32 year old Tana Poppe was found deceased in a rural Dubuque County home near La Motte, Iowa, on April 10. Dubuque County Sheriff Joe Kennedy said that the sheriff’s department followed up on all leads, which weren’t many. He said the person who discovered Poppe’s body had a solid alibi, and he could not have killed her based on the timeframe during which she was estimated to have been murdered, based on the condition of her body.
