Authorities say one person was killed Tuesday when a vehicle struck a pedestrian in Jackson County. A crash report from the Iowa State Patrol states that a vehicle was attempting to leave the parking lot of the Preston Country Store at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when it struck a pedestrian. The report states that the incident remains under investigation. The names of both the driver of the vehicle and the pedestrian are being withheld until family members have been notified.
