Dubuque County Auditor Kevin Dragotto detailed to the Board of Supervisors last week Dubuque County officials’ part in a transaction that resulted in the interception of more than $524,000 meant for the city of Dyersville, Iowa — as critics continued calling for accountability. Dragotto’s 14-page memo, which was included in the agenda for the supervisors’ Sept. 16 meeting, included emails between county staff — one in his office and one overseen by the supervisors — and the city of Dyersville regarding the transaction, which he previously provided to the Telegraph Herald. The memo also addresses comments and questions from members of the public and questions of Dragotto’s own about the status of the ongoing insurance negotiations between the county and city of Dyersville.
