Two People Injured When Vehicle Crashes Into Tree

Police say a motorist and her passenger were injured Friday after hitting a tree. 66 year old Jodi Mara of Grayslake, Illinois suffered minor injuries and was taken by EMS to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center. 54 year old Christine  Meyers of Jackson, Wisconsin, was transported by EMS to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for possible injuries. The incident occurred at around 1:40 p.m. Friday at Eagle Point Park. According to a police crash report, Mara was pulling into a parking spot at the park when the vehicle accelerated instead of braking, causing it to jump the curb and go down the hill and into a tree.
