Mike Campbell, the guitarist and songwriter from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, took to Instagram on Wednesday (October 30) to share details of his new memoir, Heartbreaker. The book, which took the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer two years to write, will be published on March 18th via Grand Central Publishing. “It’s the story of a poor kid from Jacksonville, Florida, who realized a dream through music,” writes Campbell. “Playing guitar and writing songs has been my inspiration and purpose. It’s a story of hope, redemption, and gratitude, a testimonial that dreams can come true if you believe in yourself and follow your truth.” Campbell and fellow Heartbreaker Benmont Tench are currently touring together as part of the “Life Is a Carnival: Last Waltz Tour ’24,” while Campbell’s band the Dirty Knobs released their new album Vagabonds, Virgins & Misfits back in June.
