A Dubuque man has been sentenced to more than a year in federal prison after he was found to be in possession of firearms while being an illegal drug user. 25 year old Jesse Zeromski received the sentence in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids after previously pleading guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by an unlawful drug user. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa, Zeromski admitted he unlawfully possessed a revolver, two shotguns and two rifles while being an unlawful user of methamphetamine, amphetamine and cocaine. Zeromski must serve three years of supervised release after his prison term of 12 months and one day.
