Authorities on Monday released the identities of three men killed in a fiery head-on collision last month in Delaware County — and revealed that the driver of the wrong-way vehicle involved had been shot. 50 year old Tijuan White of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, who was the drive of the vehicle, and passengers 21 year old Tyrese Johnson of Minneapolis, and 38 year old Augustine Monboe of Robbinsdale, were killed in the wreck that happened at about 3:35 a.m. on October 13 on U.S. Highway 20 near Earlville. A release from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department says an investigation determined that White had sustained a gunshot wound prior to the head-on collision. Authorities said White’s vehicle was traveling east on U.S. Highway 20 east of the Earlville interchange when the vehicle crossed the median for an undetermined reason. White’s vehicle continued traveling east in the westbound lanes for more than a mile before colliding head-on with a straight truck driven by 62 year old Ricky Bergfeld of Peosta, Iowa.
