A man from Texas has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison after he was found in possession of firearms while a felon during a Clayton County traffic stop. 41 year old Douglas Greer of Fort Worth, Texas, received the sentence in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids after previously pleading guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa, Greer admitted he possessed four firearms in his car when he was stopped for speeding in Clayton County. Greer previously was convicted of the felony offenses of making terroristic threats and offering a forged check. Greer must serve three years of supervised release after his prison term of 40 months.
