The Dubuque County supervisors prioritized a flat or lower property tax levy, budget transparency and a more critical eye toward capital improvement requests by department heads on Monday during their opening discussion of budget planning for next fiscal year. The Board of Supervisors will work with other county elected officials and department heads over the next several months to craft the county budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025. The three supervisors were unanimous in their support for keeping the property tax levy rate the same or lower than it is in the current fiscal year.
