The co-founder and director of Dubuque’s Veterans Freedom Center has died. 76-year-old Jim Wagner died Saturday night, according to Al Rowell, who co-founded the center in 2009. The center posted about Wagner’s death on social media. Rowell said Wagner had experienced recent health problems. Rowell said the center will be open today [Monday, Jan. 27] and people are welcome to visit and share their memories of Wagner.
