Dubuque Police are investigating the death of a Dubuque woman after she was found dead earlier this week. A news release from the Dubuque Police Department states officers responded around 9 a.m. Monday to the 2200 block of Jackson Street for the report of an unresponsive subject lying in the snow. There, first responders located an unresponsive woman later identified as 29-year-old Alexandria Brown of Dubuque. First responders attempted life-saving procedures before Brown was transported to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation indicates Brown was exposed to the elements — which included temperatures and wind chills below zero — for several hours. Dubuque Police Lt. Luke Bock said Brown’s death appears to be an isolated incident, and the department does not believe there is an existing threat to community safety. The investigation is ongoing.
