A Platteville teacher accused of sex crimes invlving a child in Alabama has resigned. An email from Platteville School’s Superintendent, Jim Boebel, states that as of today [Thursday], the Platteville School District Board of Education has accepted the resignation of Owen Strizic, Platteville High School and Middle School Strings Teacher, effective immediately. According to arrest records from the Elmore County Sheriff in Alabama, 48-year-old Owen Strizic of Platteville was arrested at 2:08 AM Saturday on charges of electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Strizic was placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation prior to his resignation.
