Dubuque Community School Board members this week awarded construction contracts for renovation projects at two district schools. The board unanimously awarded the two contracts for work at Eisenhower and Irving elementary schools at a special meeting Monday night. Conlon Construction was awarded the bid for the mechanical replacement project at Irving, in the total amount of $6,080,000. The project will replace the school’s boiler system and bring air conditioning to the entire building. Meanwhile, TriCon Construction Group was awarded the bid for renovations and upgrades at Eisenhower, in the total amount of $8,017,000. The project will add a gym and several classrooms, expand the kitchen and create a secure entrance.
