Dubuque man injured in Scales Mound OWI crash

Authorities said a man was injured Friday in a Jo Daviess County crash. 29-year-old Carter J. Link of Dubuque, was treated at the scene by Galena EMS and transported to Midwest Medical Center in Galena for further treatment. According to a Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department news release, the crash happened at about 2 p.m. Friday on North Ford Road south of West Kelly Road in rural Scales Mound. Link was driving north on North Ford Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and lost control. His vehicle then left the roadway, collided with a culvert and came to rest after striking some trees. Link was cited with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
