A Dubuque man has been sentenced to two years of probation for his role in a large disturbance during which police said shots were fired, while another man now is charged in federal court in connection with the incident. 29 year old Devonte Ellison Sr. was sentenced in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County by Iowa District Court Judge Michael Shubatt after pleading guilty to a charge of unlawful assembly. Marvin L. Brantley, 31, of Dubuque, now is charged in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa with possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with the incident. 38 year old Romell Scott and 36 year old Maurice Jones Jr. both of Dubuque, previously pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful assembly in connection with the April 9 incident. Scott was sentenced to two years of probation, and Jones was sentenced to nearly four months in jail.
