On Sunday just before 1 AM Fennimore Police spotted a vehicle with heavy front damage weaving outside the lane of traffic and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, southbound on Lincoln Ave. Fennimore Police pursued the vehicle and the vehicle increased speed to 96 mph in a 35 mph, in the City of Fennimore. Fennimore Police terminated the pursuit and alerted dispatch. Shortly after the pursuit was terminated, it was reported that the suspect vehicle had rear-ended another vehicle on the north side of Fennimore. A Grant County Sheriff Deputy located the vehicle north of the City of Lancaster, traveling 108 mph in a 55-mph zone. A pursuit was initiated and the driver continued southbound into the City of Lancaster. The driver attempted to elude law enforcement but came to a stop in the city of Lancaster and was taken into custody. As a result, 27-year-old Ali M. Hassan of Stoughton was arrested for Fleeing/Eluding an Officer, Operating while Intoxicated – 3rd Offense, Operating after Revocation, Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device, Illegal Possession of Prescription Medication, and a Probation Hold. Ali is currently on probation for Fleeing/Eluding an Officer and Armed Robbery. Ali had is being held in the Grant County Jail on a $1000 cash bond and a Probation Hold. Lancaster Police Department and Bennett’s Towing assisted at the scene.
