A teen has been charged with homicide by negligent use of a vehicle in connection with an August crash in southwest Wisconsin that killed one person and seriously injured another. 18 year old Gavin Fishnick of Barneveld is charged in Grant County District Court with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle and reckless driving — causing bodily harm. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 26. According to a report, motorcyclist 22 year old Cameron Schaefer and passenger 23 year old Jadyn Noonan, both of Dickeyville, were southbound on Highway 61 when Fishnick failed to yield at stop sign and caused the collision. Schaefer and Noonan both were ejected and sustained serious injuries in the crash. Potosi EMS transported Schaefer to Grant Regional Health Center and Noonan to Southwest Health. Both were later transferred to different hospitals, and Schaefer later died. Neither Fishnick — who was 17 at the time of the crash — nor his juvenile passenger reported injuries.
