The Dubuque County Attorney’s Office has cleared two local police officers of wrongdoing after they shot and wounded a teenager who law enforcement said displayed a knife during an interaction with officers. Dubuque County Attorney Scott Nelson shared his findings after a review of body camera footage, interviews with officers and other evidence collected during and after the incident. The investigation was completed by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, and all information was sent to Nelson for review. His findings clear Dubuque Police Department officers Dylan Doerges and Stephanie Wehr of any wrongdoing, and the investigation into the pair’s actions is now closed. Per a statement from the city, both officers now will be returned to active duty.
