Authorities say a fire destroyed a home this morning in Dubuque County. Firefighters from New Vienna and Dyersville responded shortly after 7 a.m. to a residence on Lukan Road for a fully involved structure fire. According to the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department, two family members and the family dog were home at the time and escaped the fire uninjured. A release states that residence is owned by Richard Goerdt and is considered a total loss. A preliminary investigation indicates a wood-burning stove was the source of the fire.
